abbr. Small and Medium (or Midsize) Business
Broadly, Small and Medium Businesses have annual revenues between $5M and $200M. Most demographers segment businesses by number of employees with Small Businesses having 0-99 employees and Midsize Businesses having 100-499 employees. The smallest of Small Businesses are known as Micro Businesses and usually have fewer than 5 employees. At Venture Marketing, and for purposes of The Marketing-Playbook, we define Small B2B Businesses as those companies with least 3 full time (or full time equivalent) Sales Reps.

In European countries, SMB is referred to as SME for Small and Medium Enterprises.
