ROI
abbr. Return on Investment
Your ROI is what you get back from an investment of money, time, talent and sweat equity. In business, it is your financial return from your investments (or expenses). For example, if you spend $1,500 on ads and get back $2,000 in new sales as a result, your ROI is $2,000 minus $1,500 or $500. This is a simplistic example because there is no accounting for ALL of the costs incurred to deliver the new sales, but for most people, when they think of ROI, it is this very simplistic, quick calculation they are referring to.
