Geo-Targeting

The ability to run your ads depending upon the viewer’s geographic location. This was first popularized in the 1970’s when a division of 3M worked with major print magazines to publish different versions depending upon the subscriber’s address. Cable-TV, Google AdWords, and banner advertising have extended the idea way beyond the intention of it’s creators. Geo-targeting works very well for most advertisers.
