Bot

A program that internet search engines run to index all the content it can find on websites all over the world. Bots have names to indicate to webmasters that they have come to their website. In your website stats, there will be entries for Googlebot (Google's bot), MSNbot (Microsoft's bot), Slurp (Yahoo's bot) and Teoma (Ask's bot).
