abbr. Budget, Authority, Need, Timing
BANT stands for: Budget, Authority, Need, Timing (or Timeline). The term was first coined at IBM by John Coe. For more on John and his lead qualification criteria, see my recommended reading list (page 126-127). The order of the qualification does not follow the letter pattern, but rather, 1-Need, 2-Budget, 3-Authority and 4-Timing.
